Reykjavík-based interdisciplinary artist Erla Sverrisdóttir weaves a practice that explores the profound entanglement between the human and the Earth body - through threads of phenomenology, linguistic theory, cultural memory, and ritual. Through research driven works, poetic objects and narrative installations, she investigates how cultural frameworks and inherited stories shape our understanding of the animate world around us. Challenging human-centric and individualistic ideologies, Erla seeks to open space for imaginative thought and behavioral shifts that honor shared agency and new systems of care. A gentle call to listen, to feel, and to reweave forgotten dialogue. Erla holds a BA in Product Design from Iceland University of the Arts, has concluded an exchange semester in the Invisible Studio program at Design Academy Eindhoven as well as a two-year Visual Arts program at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts and is currently pursuing an MA in Exhibition Making and Curatorship at the University of Iceland.
